FORT THOMAS - The Fort Thomas Police Department responded to a call at Woodfill Elementary School after being notified that a hand grenade was found on school property the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 19.

The grenade, brought in by one of the school's first-grade students, was found to be a paper weight made out of an old, non-active, drilled out hand grenade that did not contain any explosives.
Lieutenant Rich Whitford said school officials followed proper procedure by contacting the police.
